The T7 is the safe, popular pick for good reason. PCIe NVMe speeds up to 1,050 MB/s make it roughly twice as fast as older external hard drives, and the shock-resistant design takes a knock without a second thought.

The honest catch is that you need an actual USB4 port to unlock that top speed, and this is the priciest pick by far. For professionals moving large video files who refuse to wait, though, the warranty and the speed both justify the cost.
