The T9 is the one to get if your transfers are long, not just bursty. Its Dynamic Thermal Guard keeps the drive from overheating and throttling during sustained creative loads, so the up to 2,000 MB/s rating actually holds up under real work instead of only appearing in the first few seconds of a benchmark.

It is rugged yet still compact enough to pocket, and USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 speeds put it well ahead of older external drives, which is what earns it the rugged pick here. Compatibility is broad too, spanning desktops, cameras and recent iPhones.

The 2TB capacity and forged-aluminum, silicone-wrapped chassis suit on-location video work specifically, and it stays backward compatible with USB 3.2, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt 4, so it is never useless on an older machine, just slower. The 5-year warranty is the longest coverage of any pick here.

The honest catch is that you need an actual USB4 port to unlock that top speed, and this is the priciest pick by far. For professionals moving large video files who refuse to wait, though, the warranty and the speed both justify the cost.
