What is the difference between eau de toilette and eau de parfum?
Concentration of fragrance oil. Eau de toilette (EDT) is lighter and usually lasts 4 to 6 hours; eau de parfum (EDP) is stronger and lasts longer, and parfum or extrait is stronger still. The same scent can smell noticeably different across concentrations, so check which one you are buying.
How do I avoid buying a fake fragrance online?
Buy listings that ship from and are sold by Amazon or the brand's own store, not a third-party seller with a too-good price. Genuine bottles have clean printing, a batch code on the box and bottle that match, and a cap and atomizer that feel solid.
How many sprays should I use?
Two to four on skin, at the neck and wrists or chest, is plenty for most fragrances. Strong parfums like Azzaro The Most Wanted or Creed Aventus need fewer; light citrus EDTs can take one or two more. Do not rub your wrists together, since that crushes the top notes.
