Fractal Design North
Best for: A gaming PC that lives in a living room or on a visible desk, built around a 240mm or 360mm front AIO or a low tower cooler.
The Fractal Design North is the case people buy to make a PC look like furniture. The front is a row of real walnut bars over an open intake, the left panel on this version is ventilated mesh rather than glass, and the result reads more like a hi-fi cabinet than a gaming tower. It is also the most compact of the three at 447 x 215 x 469 mm and 7.6 kg.
The airflow is not a sacrifice for the looks. Air reaches the two included 140mm Aspect PWM fans through the open front, and the case takes a 360mm radiator at the front. Front I/O is the best here, with a 20 Gbps USB-C port and two USB-A ports.
The limits matter more than on the other two. Fractal lists 145mm of CPU cooler height for this mesh model, which rules out many tall dual-tower air coolers. The top only takes a 240mm radiator, and GPU length drops from 355mm to 300mm with a 360mm radiator up front. It is the priciest pick at $154.99, the top of a $119.99 to $154.99 range in our tracking, and much of that buys the materials.

Best for: High-end builds with a big GPU and a 360mm or 420mm liquid cooler, on a desk with room for a wide case.
The NZXT H9 Flow (2025) is the value pick because the price fell into mid-range territory while the case stayed high-end. We tracked it at $113.99 on Oct 19, 2026, against $169.99 at its highest.
The layout is the point. A second chamber behind the motherboard holds the power supply, drives and cable runs, which keeps the main chamber clear for airflow and makes the glass side look clean. Three 140mm fans sit at the front-right side and a 120mm fan at the rear, with mounts for ten fans in all. Radiators up to 420mm fit at the top and the side, with 360mm at the bottom, and the case takes E-ATX boards up to 277mm wide. It is also ready for rear-connector boards such as ASUS BTF and MSI Project Zero.
The trade-offs are size and fans. At 12.5 kg and about 315mm wide, it needs real desk space and is heavy to move once built. The included fans are 3-pin DC case versions rather than PWM, so they need a DC header or a controller. CPU air coolers top out at 165mm.
