Editor's note

The big player count is the draw for me. Most deduction games stall out past eight, and this one is built to handle a full room.

Why we picked it

Best for: Adult and teen groups of 6 to 12 who like accusing each other more than drawing or spelling.

The only pick that seats 12, in 20-minute rounds, with 200 clue cards and 90 means cards behind every murder. Teens 14+ and adults only.

What we like

+ Seats 4 to 12, the widest player range on this list
+ Rounds run about 20 minutes, so a whole group gets several turns as murderer
+ The silent forensic scientist role adds a puzzle that pure bluffing games lack
+ 200 clue and 90 means cards keep the solutions from repeating

Watch outs

- The forensic scientist cannot talk for the whole round
- Rated 14+ with a murder theme, so it is not a family pick
- A full 12-player layout needs a big table and some setup time
- Weaker at 4 or 5 players, before the accomplice and witness roles join
